Congratulations to students at Chalmers Street PS in Cambridge for raising just over $400 to help people in developing countries access clean water.

“A group of our students attended We Day in November and wanted to get involved in a school initiative,” states Brian Wiechers, vice-principal. “The students decided to collect pennies and in a few weeks, managed to raise $400.”

Students donated their pennies to Free the Children’s Water Initiative using special deposit bags provided by RBC. Each bag holds $25 worth of pennies and gives one person access to clean water.

Through the donation of their pennies, Chalmers Street PS provided clean water to 16 people – way to go Cougars!!
