The WAYVE team at Lincoln Heights Public School put on a spectacular evening of visual art, music and singing performances, and reflection.

With the help of the Ontario Ministry of Education‘s Speak Up grant, the school was proud to present VOICES, an opportunity that allowed Lincoln Heights PS students to express their voice through a variety of ways, such as signing, art, dance, the spoken word, and musical instruments. It was a safe space to be creative, express feeling and explore emotions a little deeper. Each performance and piece of original art was as special and unique as the artist and performer who made their vision come to life.

Before the show began, attendees were invited to look at the student artwork that was on display and that would later be auctioned off in a spirited live auction. With paddles in hand, the crowd started the friendly bidding war! It was awesome to see the school community come together and support the hard work the students put into each art display. The highest price paid for student art was $60, and the overall total raised was $870! The money will be put towards creating two school murals and a donation to a local mental health association.

Thank you to everyone who shared in this wonderful evening and celebrating what is important to our youth!

The Lincoln Heights PS students and staff did a terrific job and the night exploded with creativity!
