Grade 2 Queen Elizabeth Public School students kicked off Bike Month with shiny new bike helmets and a lesson on bike helmet safety.

The class helped the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) launch a new local initiative called ‘Bike Helmets on Kids,’ along with two local personal injury law firms, Robert Deutschmann and Dianne deJong from Paquette Travers & Deutschmann and George Dietrich from Dietrich Law, and representatives from the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo-Wellington. The group gave a fun and interactive presentation on the brain, its function and how it can get injured, followed by a helmet fitting demonstration.

This is the first year for the initiative in Kitchener, and Queen Elizabeth PS was the first school chosen to participate. The Grade 2 students are ready and equipped to have a safe and fun summer!
