Terry Fox had a dream. His dream was to raise $1.00 for every person in Canada for cancer research.

On September 24, 228 staff and students at Mackenzie King Public School wanted to do their part in helping inspire and educate others of Terry’s hope of finding cures for cancer. The entire school organized a 1.7km community walk, mimicking his journey from Newfoundland to Thunder Bay, Ontario. During the walk, participants wore red and white, and read messages of inspiration. Mayor Carl Zehr, Councillors Berry Vrbanovic and Bil Ioannidis, and Former MP Karen Redman also joined in. The school raised $365.00, surpassing the $1.00 per student initiative.
